Ross Boyd, author of trace has discovered an undocumented command in the PC to Citrine protocol. The command is J and it forces the Citrine to think on a move, which can be handy when you're in Arena. Just set Arena to analyse mode. Send U ON to the Novag to put the Citrine in Referee only mode. Then send J whenever you want it to think. In the meantime Rybka (or the even more powerful TRACE) can be analysing the move at the same time so you can compare. Hope this helps someone.
